SewingMachinesPlus.com, Inc. is currently seeking an experienced Accountant Specialist to join our team in Escondido, CA.

We are a family-owned company and have been involved in the sewing and vacuum business for over 40 years. We run a successful sewing machine and vacuum sales and service business with a location in San Marcos, and our .com business located in Escondido. Thanks to our wonderful customers, we expanded our original sales floor to over 10,000 square feet and built a bigger classroom. In addition to our retail store, we operate the largest sewing-related website in the United States.

About the role:

The Accounting Specialist will perform a range of accounting and financial duties to support the financial functions of the company. The candidate will work in a fast-paced environment.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

Reads computer files or gathers records such as purchase orders, sales tickets, and charge slips, to compile needed data.
Enters information into a computer or computes amounts due.
Verifies and posts details of business transactions, such as funds received and disbursed, and total accounts to ledgers or computer spreadsheets and databases.
Investigate problems that vendors or purchasing agents have with obtaining payment for bills.
Reconciles general ledger accounts with various registers. Extracts general ledger information. Reconciles bank statements.
Posts transactions to accounting records such as work sheets, ledger, or computer files.
Reviews, balances, interprets computer reports, and makes corrections.
Conduct audits for manually written or online data.
Corrects errors or lists discrepancies for adjustment.
Exporting data to Quickbooks
Reconcile payables due and process invoices from vendors

Education and/or Experience

One year certificate from college or technical school; or three to six months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Quickbooks and Excel experience.

Language Skills

Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of an organization.

Mathematical Skills

Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.

Reasoning Ability

Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions. Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.

Computer Skills

To perform this job successfully, an individual should know QuickBooks Cloud Accounting software; Microsoft Excel Spreadsheet software, and Microsoft Office Word Processing software.

Compensation: $22.00 - $25.00 per hour
